A truly enduring rose

I put a start of this practically indestructible rose in the Appletree Garden several years ago and I'm looking forward to seeing its first flowers in a couple weeks. And, unlike many old roses, it blooms all summer!

I suspect it's a "Zepherine Drouhin," introduced in 1868, but since it was an enormous bush when I first came across it, I'm not sure. I do know that it thrives near the seashore in sandy soil with no extra water at all. Plus the deer seem to ignore it.
The branches arch out twelve feet or more and the thicket of stems gets larger and more beautiful each year. Not something everyone wants in their garden, but trained up a trellis or fence, this can be a lazy gardener's dream. No fertilizer needed, no watering needed, just appreciation.
