Grieving and gardens

A garden, especially one you've created yourself, can be a safe place to grieve major or minor losses. And don't minimize the need for a little moaning over the job that never materialized, the dream that died, the favorite houseplant that turned brown when you forgot to water it. Learning how to ride the small waves of sorrow keeps us from drowning when the large ones roll over us.
